Streetsboro defeats Ravenna, 45-7, behind 4 TDs from Preston Hopperton

Streetsboro, Ohio – The Streetsboro Rockets defeated visiting Ravenna, 45-7, on Friday night at Quinn Field.

Streetsboro recovered an attempted onside kick to start off the game.

Junior athlete Preston Hopperton had a 41-yard touchdown reception from Colby Benjamin to start off the scoring. The Rockets led 7-0 early on.

After a defensive stand, the Rockets added to their lead. Preston Hopperton went into the end zone once again, with a four yard touchdown. They led 14-0 with 4:27 left in the first.

Ravenna responded on the next drive. After a long kickoff return from Austin Marshall, senior athlete Pavel Henderson went in from three yards out to cut the Raven deficit to 14-7 with 3:12 left in the first.

Benjamin tossed a touchdown to Jackson Gula late in the first quarter to increase the Rocket lead to 21-7 with :10 left in the first.

The Rockets took advantage of a blocked punt from Joey Fedor, giving them a short field. Preston Hopperton would find the end zone once again, to increase their lead to 28-7 with 9:04 left in the second.

The offensive machine continued to keep on rolling. After a recovered onside kick, Preston Hopperton found the end zone once again. This made the score 35-7 in favor of Streetsboro.

After another defensive stop, the Rockets got the ball back late in the first half. Colby Benjamin found Garrett Tiller for a long reception to put them in field goal range.

Senior Dominic Incorvati converted a 33-yard field goal to increase the lead to 38-7 going into the halftime break.

The entire second half was played under a running clock. After a scoreless third quarter, sophomore Jackson Gula broke free for a 14-yard touchdown run with 6:57 to play to cap the scoring.

Colby Benjamin went 7 of 12 passing for 134 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He also had 10 carries for 68 yards.

Ravenna (2-3) (0-2 Metro Conference)) hosts Field to continue Metro Conference play.

Streetsboro (3-2 (1-1 Metro Conference)) travels to Cloverleaf to continue Metro Conference play.

The dynamic athlete scored four touchdowns in the first half. He has made a huge impact on the Rockets this season! He had 11 carries for 55 yards and three scores on the ground, and two catches for 68 yards through the air.
