The Stow-Munroe Falls Bulldogs improved to 18-2 on the season after an impressive 63-41 victory over the Twinsburg Tigers, dropping them to 13-8. The bulldogs came out fast with an early 11-0 lead in the first quarter, thanks to Sr. center AJ Pestello and crew. Pestello, along with Sr. Titus Baskerville, Sr. Nate Boozer and Jr. Reece Raymond-Smith had Twinsburg looking for answers early and often. After the bulldogs took an 11-0 lead, Twinsburg outscored them 9-8 to make the score 19-9 at the end of the 1st. The Tigers were led by Adam Williams and Orion Hill, but they weren’t enough to stop the bulldogs tonight.

Baskerville had a steal and a few deflections, Pestello got his second dunk of the night, and the bulldogs collectively were shooting the three ball with great accuracy. By the time halftime came the Tigers were down 39-20. Brennan Hopp and Sean Cleveland tried to help get Twinsburg back in the game but the bulldogs weren’t going to be denied on a night they honored their basketball hall of fame and alumni.

The Tigers were only outscored 24-21 in the second half but their 19 point first half deficit was too much to overcome. Twinsburg’s offense showed up too late and their defense wasn’t much of a match for the high powered bulldog offense. Pestello finished the game with 15 points, a block, two thunderous dunks and a handful of rebounds. Raymond-Smith and Nick Timberlake combined for five three-pointers and Baskerville had 13 points along with some nice dimes.

Twinsburg was led by Adam Williams with 13 points, Hopp had 5 points and Cam Wilkerson contributed 10 points and quality defense.

The Bulldogs travel to Brunswick Tuesday 2/14 at 7:30 and the Tigers host Solon same date and time.
