We have all had a little time to digest the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble PLE and I think I speak for many when I say it hit a massive homerun! Nearly 70,000 fans packed Lucas Oil Stadium in Indy for a men’s Royal Rumble that was easily the biggest of all time, surrounded in mystery and ending with a feel good story we thought we’d never get.
To say the least, several storylines have come out of the rumble and will now be the focus as we head into WrestleMania in Las Vegas in Mid-April.
Let’s take a look at the biggest storylines to come out of the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Charlotte returning to win the match was perhaps the worst kept secret in sports history. I always love watching her perform, but when you have so much young talent you could have pushed, I actually hated this decision to put her over. Heck, I would have settled for Bayley winning back to back Rumbles instead of this, or even Roxanne Perez shocking everyone with the win. Never the less, the only mystery now for Mania is if we get our trilogy of Mania matches with Charlotte vs Ripley? Or, do they do a battle of the blondes with her and Tiffy Time?
Roxanne Perez lasted over an hour and took second place, nearly winning the match. I don’t think it will be much longer until Perez is a fulltime member of the Main Roster. She has proven she can go on the microphone, in the ring and sell a big fight. Perez would be a fresh addition to the main roster that appears to have stalled.
I’ve said it once and I will say it again, Bianca Belair is headed for a heel turn and we caught another glance of that last night when Naomi hugged Jordynne Grace and she got pissed off. I’m not entirely sure that Naomi turns with Belair and they team up on a returning Jade Cargill, or it is the other way around, but by the time we hit Mania, Belair will not be a babyface.
Maxxine Dupri lasted less then two minutes, they have no faith in her and that was evident again. You can say the same for Natty Neidhart who went less then 20 minutes and Shayna Bazler who lasted 10 minutes and made zero impact.
Nikki Bella lasted less then 5 minutes after entering 30th. While she got a great pop from the crowd and it is always nice to see her, I do not see a full time return for the WWE Hall of Famer. Approaching 40 years old, fresh off a divorce and 5 years absent from the ring all make take its toll, but she showed again why she is one of the sexiest women on earth.
NXT had a nice push with 5 women showing up in the rumble. As I said before I think Roxanne Perez is on her way up to the main roster very shortly, while Jaida Parker, Stephanie Vaquer, Giulla and Lash Legend will remain in NXT for years to come. The same can be said for Grace who I firmly believe will begin with NXT and stay there for at least a year. The main roster does not need her.
Nia Jax and Liv Morgan both had incredible performances once again. Fans may not like them, but they will both be around the main event picture for a long while to come. They are two of the top heels in the division for good reason. Morgan is that sexy little vixen you love to hate.
Finally, it was nice to see Alexa Bliss return although I’m still not sure what they are going to do with her. She appeared to pay homage to Bray Wyatt while she was out there, so perhaps her entrance into the stalled Wyatt 6 is not far away.
