Congrats to the St. Francis DeSales Stallions for capturing the OHSAA Div II Girls Lacrosse State Championship with a thrilling 15-9 win over Hathaway Brown to capture their second straight State Championship!  They were led by Campbell Head with an amazing 7 goal performance to lead them to a title.  Also dominating for the Stallions was Caroline Cross with 4 goals.  The Blazers were led by Emily Morgan with 5 goals.

The Stallions wasted no time getting the scoring going by winning the opening draw and scoring almost instantly.  The first goal coming from the stick of Caroline Cross.  The lead stayed at one until the 7:39 mark when Campbell Heald tacked another one and brought the score to 2-0, where it remained until quarters end.

The Campbell Heald show continued into the early moments of the second quarter with two more goals, giving her a hat trick with 10:58 still to play.  Down 4-0, the Blazers had to respond quickly and did so before it could get any worse.  Sharpshooter Emily Morgan sprung into action with three straight goals to get the Blazers right back in it as Hathaway Brown suddenly had life.

The Stallions were quick to snuff out the rally with two goals in 39 seconds by Cross and Heald to rebuild the lead to 6-3.  Once again, the Blazers were unfazed by the deficit and bounced back to capture three stunning goals from Nygaard, Morgan and Taigen.

Amazingly, the Blazers came all the way back to take the lead in the opening moments of the second half as the flurry continued with a goal from Anna Morgan.  The Stallions responded with a goal from their own Anna, this time it was Anna Bogan doing the honors to tie the game back up at the 5:50 mark.  The crazy game continued with another goal from Heald to reclaim the lead for the Stallions 8-7 with 3:11 to play.

Up 8-7, the Stallions knew that this time with a state championship in grasp, they needed to do whatever they could to make the lead stick, and they did just that!  They went on to score the next 7 of 9 goal to take a commanding 15-9 lead with 2:59 to play. They made the lead stick for the win.
