Solon Downs Stow at the Buzzer 17-14

The Solon Comets were out for blood tonight against the Stow Bulldogs when they won 17 to 14 with a clutch field goal. The Bulldogs started the game with great defense with Nate Boozer getting the first sack of the game. Teddy Gregory on the Stow Bulldogs had an extraordinary performance  with two sacks, and also aided the Bulldogs on the offensive side of the ball. Aaron Titlebaum closed the game with a game winning field goal allowing the comets to pull out the win.

In the first quarter, Stow dominated Solon’s offense which dictated the outcome of the first half of the game. Nate Boozer got the first sack of the game for the Bulldogs  which raised the intensity, and gave Stow the upper hand. The quarter ended with the score being 0 to 0, making the first quarter a defensive struggle for both opponents.  

In the second quarter, Stow started off with a lot of energy and enthusiasm when Brayden Gabele scored another touchdown for the Bulldogs completing a 20 yard pass. Teddy Gregory received his first sack when he pounded EJ Taylor of Solon in the ground almost making him lose the ball. Zachary Huff scored the second touchdown for the Bulldogs running 69 yards into the end zone. The Bulldogs were excited and hungry for for a win.

In quarter three Solon came out with a little more fire under their bellies and gave the Bulldogs a run for their money. Brian McQuaide made an amazing play running for dear life into the end zone just barley escaping the Bulldogs hounding defense and scored the first touchdown for the Comets. This closed the quarter out 14 to 7.  

In the fourth quarter Solon inched closer and closer to tying the game, as EJ Taylor scored a swift touchdown for Solon to tye the ball game. Teddy Gregory and  Donovan Jackson recorded two major sacks Turing the game around for the Comets. Finally, Aaron Titlebaum kicked the final game winning field goal and sealed the game for the Comets!

The Comets redeemed themselves tonight after getting their first win two consecutive losses. The Comets will play Strongsville away and the Bulldogs play Medina away as well, hoping to get a win after this tough loss. The Comets are feeling great after tonight win giving them the inspiration and energy to shoot for the stars in this up coming football season!
