Solon Comets victorious over Euclid Panthers on Senior Night

The Solon High School Comets had a great win over the Euclid Panthers during its Senior Night game on Friday.

Both teams’ defense held strong to start the game, but Comet EJ Taylor broke the plane for the first touchdown of the game. The extra point was blocked, keeping the score 6-0 at the end of the quarter.

The Panthers returned the pressure in the second quarter, and Jamal Jefferson completed a 37-yd pass to put the visitors up by one. Solon pulled away with 36 seconds remaining in the half as Joel Kspassou ran a 91-yd touchdown to shift the score in the Comets favor.

A scoreless third quarter sent the game into its final minutes, and Solon put its foot on the gas. Brian McQuaide and Kspassou each knocked touchdowns for the Comets, and the home team ended the game on top 37-10.

Solon’s EJ Taylor and Joel Ksassou both brought energy and passion to tonight’s game. Euclid’s Jordan Edwards played a great defensive game.

Euclid will host Mentor next Friday, while Solon will travel to Medina.
