Shocking WWE Royal Rumble Surprises Planned

This article is brought to you by – https://keeonsports.com/sponsors/

If WWE Day One was any indication of how this year is going to go for the WWE, then fans should buckle up for a wild ride.  It is already quite clear that the WWE is doing anything they can to increase shock value for their fans as they battle AEW in the ratings.  Clearly, they are starting to feel the pressure and tonights Royal Rumble card is loaded with planned shocks and surprises.

Here now are just a few that we expect to see coming and the reason behind them.

Chris Jericho will compete in the Rumble

Nick Khan and Vince McMahon need to do whatever they can to compete with AEW and they have already shown once that they can work with Chris Jericho.  As you recall, the former Y2J has was on an early episode of The Broken Skull sessions a little less than a year ago.

Paul Heyman will turn on Brock Lesnar

The seeds for this one are already planted.  Lesnar telling Heyman to shut up before he got attacked a few weeks back laid the groundwork.  Not only that, but it is evident that Brock is getting more comfortable on the microphone.  Heyman is headed back to “The Bloodline”.  The Heyman turn on Lesnar will cost him the title.

Shane McMahon will return in the Men’s Rumble match.

Braun Strowman beat up Dabo Kato and ruined his RAW Underground gimmick, thus causing a WrestleMania match between the two last year.  What his reason for coming back this year will be anyone’s guess.

Sami Zayn will be eliminated by Johnny Knoxville.

This entire ordeal needs to end quickly.  D-U-M-B!  Let the “movie star” get his cheap pop, plug his movie and then let’s all move on from this.

Sonya Deville and Cameron will eliminate Naomi.

What a shock that they had a knockdown drag out instant classic on Smackdown Friday Night.  I was fully expecting a clunker and they tore down the house! Rumor has it that Naomi’s old Tag Team Partner Cameron is on her way back into the fold.  However, I do not expect a blissful reunion between the two as I actually see Cameron coming back to help Deville eliminate Naomi.

Vaneer and Omos will steal the show midway through the rumble

The two big men will throw it down and clear the ring as the crowd goes nuts by them chucking guys like Richochet and Dominik into the third row. Neither has a snow balls chance in hell of winning, but it will be fun while it lasts until Big E comes down and takes both out.

Ronda Rousey will show up to challenge Becky Lynch

We haven’t seen Rousey since her title loss to Lynch in the headliner of WrestleMania 35.  A lot has changed since as they both took time off to have children.  Roles will be reversed as this time Lynch will be in the role of the heel.  Maybe, just maybe, we finally get that one on one the fans wanted before Charlotte ruined it last time.

The Rock shows up to challenge Roman Reigns.

Have you ever noticed that Reigns uses the term, “Insert City, Acknowledge Me”. There was a certain other Samoan who used to start each in ring promo with the name of the city. I fully realize the plan was Reigns vs Lesnar for WrestleMania, but do we really want to go down that aisle yet again?

Alexa Bliss returns to eliminate Charlotte and win the rumble.

Take this one to the bank!  Do I really need to explain? If you have been watching wrestling the last 6 months, you know EXACTLY why this one is going down. As much as we all want the Belair vs Charlotte match, it appears that the WWE will take the sure thing instead.

Edge loses to The Miz

They have nothing to gain by Edge winning.  Everyone expects it and it would do nothing to further develop the story between the two.  If they need to have this last until WrestleMania as planned, then the Miz must go over.
