by Early word has leaked that upon Shane McMahon signing with AEW as on air personality only, his role would be their first ever on air authority figure. This is not a Christopher Daniels backstage angle, but rather Shane McMahon acting as “President of Operations” and Tony Khan’s right hand man.
It is said that AEW has tested the theory on a smaller scale with Daniels, but the main plan is for Shane to come out and cut a promo to start each Dynamite. Much like the McMahons used to do during the WWE Attitude Era. McMahon would then be a major part of the show moving forward.
Again, as of right now, this is nothing but rumored as many “sure thing” deals with Khan and AEW have blown up in the past. However, this one seems to have serious legs behind it and ready to run as early as the Dynamite following WrestleDream to announce a Tournament for a New World Champion that night as Danielson retires unexpectedly.
Time will tell if any of this speculation pans out….
