Seth Rollins to Lose WWE Word Heavyweight Championship at Crown Jewel

Seth Rollins defeated Aj Styles to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on May 27, in Saudi Arabia as part of the WWE Night of Champions PLE.  Now, Rollins returns to Saudia Arabia this Saturday at WWE Crown Jewel and defends that same championship against Drew McIntyre.  All signs point to him dropping the gold, but not to his challenger, but rather, for the third time in his career, becoming the victim of a cash in.

As you may recall, Rollins lost his World Championship in 2016 at Money In The Bank to a Dean Ambrose cash in, and 2019 to a Brock Lesnar cash in, also at Money In The Bank.  It is almost seems appropriate given that it was he who had the most memorable cash in of all time, at WrestleMania 31 as he entered the Brock Lesnar World Championship title defense versus Roman Reigns that night.

The irony here is off the charts.  He is scheduled to lose it to Damian Priest at the tail end of his defense, this will not be a post match beatdown, but rather, they want him to lose it in the same fashion he once cashed it in.  If this occurs, he will be part of several ironic records.

The most cash ins against, along with the only WWE Champion to win a title overseas, and then have that same reign end in the same overseas country.  It is like Macho Man defeating The Million Dollar Man for the World Title at Trump Plaza at WrestleMania IV, only to lose it to Hulk Hogan at the same venue one year later at WrestleMania V.  Not to mention, it won’t be the first time Rollins loses the WWE World Championship in Saudia Arabia, Bray Wyatt defeated him for it in November of 2019.

This will also continue the Drew McIntyre heel turn, as he will feel that he was screwed out of his World Title shot, and attack Rollins after all of this is over and Priest leaves the ring.

As for other notable things on the card, fans should look for Rhea Ripley to retain her Women’s World Championship in a five way match against Nia Jax, Zoey Stark, Shayna Baszler and Raquel Rodriguez as the WWE creative team will find a way to stop all four pushes at once in sacrifice to their hottest act right now Mami!

Cody Rhodes will somehow, someway, lose to Priest as Fin Balor will get involved to cost him the match, and further set up that feud.

John Cena has to win, or else his promo from last week becomes correct, a loss to Solo Sikoa pretty much makes him irrelevant at this point.

I’d also look for Logan Paul to upset Rey Mysterio for the WWE United States Championship and Sami Zayn to capture the opening match win over JD McDonagh.

Finally, unless LA Knight as the performance of his life, I expect Roman Reigns to win easily in what may look more like a glorified squash match, many forget even happened.
