The National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the first and only men’s league designated by USASA as a Tier 1 national league, is proud to announce that Santa Cruz Futbol Club has joined the league. The club will begin play in the 2025 season.
“The NPSL is thrilled to have Santa Cruz FC join our family,” NPSL Managing Director Cindy Spera said. “The club is optimally located in the North Atlantic Conference, tapping into the thriving soccer market in Boston and the surrounding suburbs. The club has existing relationships and ties to the community, and adding the NPSL brand will broaden and expand their relationships.”
The club is led by Founder and Owner Igor Monteiro and Head Coach Tiago Oliveira.
Monteiro has an unbelievable passion for the game. As a former soccer coach, Monteiro knows what it takes to play at the highest level. The main goal of Santa Cruz Futbol Club is to be a bridge for players in the United States to showcase their talent at a highly competitive level and get a chance to be offered a college scholarship or a professional contract in the U.S. or around the world.
“Santa Cruz FC is a very professional organization from our staff, coaches, players, and broadcasting team,” Monteiro said. “We hope to be competitive in our conference and have a successful run in the playoffs during our inaugural season.”
Oliveira is a highly qualified leader with experience across Brazil, the U.S., and Europe. He is an invaluable expert in the sport of soccer. Most recently, he served as an assistant coach for Ireland’s Athlone Town AFC alongside Portuguese head coach Dario Castelo. Oliveira holds A, B, and C licenses from Argentina and is completing his PRO license.
