The Cleveland Browns held former NFL MVP Lamar Jackson to 165 yards passing and picked him off four times, however it was not enough as they still lost 16-10. Reason being, the Ravens held Nick Chubb to just 16 yards rushing on only 8 carries. The chances of playing the Ravens again where Lamar Jackson has 4 interceptions, is slim to none, and the Browns blew it.
Baker Mayfield failed at a game winning drive attempt yet again this season, and the Browns appear to be getting worse as the season wears on. Mayfield would finish with 247 yards passing on 18 of 37 with a touchdown and no interceptions, despite throwing several passes right in the hands of Ravens defenders.
Birthday boy Jarvis Landry had 6 catches for 111 yards, but also a fumble and dropped balls in key moments that cost the Browns big. The same could be said for David Njoku, who despite a big touchdown catch, also continues to drop balls in big moments.
As for the defense, despite the four interceptions, they once again struggled to get off the field on third down. They also couldn’t force a punt with 6 plus minutes to go in the game. Instead, they allowed the Ravens to drive down the field, use 5 minutes of the clock and extend the lead with next to no time remaining.
It was an abysmal first half for both teams that saw a combined 5 turnovers and 9 points as the Ravens led 6-3 at the break. The Browns missed a field goal, called a terrible trick play which led to a Jarvis Landry fumble and also had a play where Baker Mayfied ran backwards to save his life before fumbling the ball. All of this didn’t allow the Browns to take advantage of a rare three straight interceptions thrown by LaMar Jackson.
Baltimore would score their six points on two field goals by Justin Tucker of 52 and 25 yards. Meanwhile, LaMar Jackson struggled, only throwing for 74 yards and 10 of 17 passing. Baker Mayfield was a little better, going 10 of 22 for 128 yards.
The Browns seemed determined to throw the ball as they only ran Nick Chubb 4 times for 6 yards in a rough first 30 minutes. Their lone points coming on a 46-yard Field Goal by Chase McLaughin. He had missed one of the same distance earlier in the half.
The Ravens started the second half with the ball and cruised down the field in 10 plays for 75 yards to score. The drive was highlighted by two circus pitch and catches from Jackson to Marc Andrews. The second was a 13-yard touchdown pass as Browns defenders dove at the feet of Jackson, and missed.
The Browns would do everything they could to get back in the game with a nice mix of run and pass for the first time all night. This led to a 87 yard drive in just under 3 minutes that was capped off by a Baker Mayfield to David Njoku 20 yard touchdown pass that the tight end cradled for the catch. This cut the lead to 13-10 in the final moments of the third quarter.
After another failed attempt to score or pretty much do anything off of a LaMar Jackson interception, the Browns punted the ball back to Baltimore with 6:23 left in the game. Giant mistake, as I knew the chances of them getting the ball back at all were slim, let alone with even a decent chunk of time remaining. Sure enough, the Ravens extended the lead to 16-10 on a 49 yard Justin Tucker field goal with just 1:11 to go.
The Browns would get the ball with one more chance from their own 25 yard line, but yet again, another Baker Mayfield attempt at a game winning drive would go nowhere, and not even account for a single first down as the Browns lost, 16-10.

Baker actually sucks. The injury narrative/excuse can only get you so far. This is the NFL nobody is a 100%, If he was that injured Case would be starting (Baker is clearly not winning.) it’s just an excuse and that’s a habit for him at this point.
