North Ridgeville traveled to Brunswick today in a game that was an instant classic.  The two teams displayed a three-point shooting explosion as they sunk a combined 19 three balls.  The Rangers drained 12 while the Lady Blue Devils hit 7 of them.  In the end it was North Ridgeville taking home the 68-59 victory in thrilling fashion.

The numbers for the Rangers were simply insane as they did it with a little bit of everything as Senior Maddy Rosado went off for 27, she is clearly saving her best basketball for this stretch run of her Senior year. Rosado made 3 from beyond the three-point line, and 8 shots overall to go with 8 foul shots.  She truly did everything she could in this incredible effort.  Rosado is having a masterful season.

While the Senior Rosado puts the finishing touches on a great career, the Freshmen Grace Kingery is giving everyone around Ohio Basketball a sneak peak at what is to come.  The sensational Freshman put on a clinic today with 26. This is the second time in three games that Kingery has hit the 26-point mark.  She did it this time by draining 6 three balls, along with 2 field goals and 4 foul shots.

Brooke Lime wasn’t to be left out of the party with 8 points herself, including 6 points from three-point land.  It was Brynnley Kerr nailing a three as well, as she had 4 points on the day while Kat Crevda had 3 points as well.

After the performance of Rosado and Kingery, it’s hard to believe the games top scorer actually came from Brunswick, but it sure did as Journey Hildebrand put up 28 points in a masterful game.  Hildebrand came out swinging with 7 in the first and 12 in the second quarter to have 19 at the half.  She scored 9 more in the second half and would finish with 3 from beyond the arc as well.

Jordan Wickes wasn’t far off for Brunswick as she also poured in 17 points.  Wickes hit 8 shots on the day, with 1 of those from beyond the three-point line.  Haley Fink had 5 for the Blue Devils while Sammy Grabowski had 3, Faith Vlcek had 4 and Samantha Kim had 2.

The Rangers led 18-14 after one quarter as Kingery had 9 in the quarter while Rosado had 6.   They would extend the lead to 38 – 30 by halftime as Kingery would explode for 13 more in the quarter.  Rosado had 7 in the second quarter as well.  Journey Hildebrand helped Brunswick keep it close by having a 12-point second quarter herself.  Kingery and Hildebrand were putting on a duel for the ages.

Down 8 at the half, the Blue Devils would make their run in the third and cut the lead to 49-47 with 8 minutes to go.  Brunswick had 6 different players score in the third quarter while holding Kingery to 2 and Rosado to 5.

Fresh off a disappointing fourth quarter to Westlake earlier this week, the Rangers learned how to close and did it in a big way on the road.  The fourth quarter was all Rangers as Rosado sunk 4 foul shots, to go along with a field goal and three pointers to seal the deal.

In fact, as a team in the fourth quarter, the Rangers hit 9 foul shots to go with 2 three pointers.  That is how championship caliber teams’ close games. If I have said it once, I’ve said it a dozen times, don’t sleep on the Rangers!
