North Olmsted could not keep up with Rocky River falling 6-3 on Wednesday Night.
Rocky River got on the board in the top of the first inning after Reagan Kane doubled, and Maggie Heigle grounded out, each scoring one run.
Rocky River added to their early lead in the top of the third inning after Leigh Konet singled, then North Olmsted committed an error, and Elleana Biscardi singled, each scoring one run.
Elena Scott pitched four innings in relief for North Olmsted. The righty surrendered three hits and one run while, striking out six and walking three. Jenna Christner started in the circle for North Olmsted Varsity. They surrendered eight hits and five runs (two earned) over three innings, striking out one and walking three.
Kane opened the game for Rocky River. The righty gave up five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out five and walking two.
Adriana D’Alessandro led North Olmsted Varsity with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. The center fielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Jocelyn Suckart set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading North Olmsted Varsity with two hits in three at bats. Suckart stole two bases. North Olmsted Varsity ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.
Konet went 3-for-4 at the plate as the right-handed hitter led the team with two runs batted in. Konet and Biscardi each collected three hits for Rocky River. Rocky River had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Rylie Quaiser and Heigle led the team with two walks each.
