Senior guard Jimmy Salamone, who recently eclipsed 1,000 career points a few days ago, added to that mark, scoring 27 in a 74-49 victory at Tallmadge Friday evening.
“It was huge to start off aggressive and hustling on both ends. With our guys playing hard and fast, it just creates a lot for our team on both ends, which leads to wins.” said Salamone.
Revere jumped ahead 5-0 early on, before Tallmadge went on a 10-0 run to take a 10-5 lead. Revere would take back the lead, going on a 15-2 run to end the quarter. Senior forward Jimmy Salamone had 13 points in the first stanza.
In the second quarter, Tallmadge, playing their second game of the season in as many days, cut their deficit to 32-27, but Revere went on a 11-0 run to close out the first half, thanks to some baskets by senior forward Andrew Rinn, who had 13 first-half points.
Salamone would dominate the third quarter, knocking down several shots from long distance, as Revere pulled away and went into cruise control the rest of the way. Senior forward and Lawrence Tech basketball commit Andrew Rinn had 17 points to aid the winning effort for the Minutemen.
