Red Robin Considering Closing 70 Underperforming Locations to Repay Owner Debt

With a bevy of restaurants around Northeast Ohio closing their doors for good, the North Olmsted Red Robin may be next on the list that will be getting revealed later this week. Recent reviews of the establishment have been high and according to financial reporting, they are still doing strong numbers. Rumors of the long awaited Texas Roadhouse coming under construction have also done little to kill the customer base.

However,  Red Robin announced that it is considering closing around 70 underperforming locations as the gourmet burger chain attempts to repay debt.  The chain’s total revenues for 2024 are $1.25 billion, a decrease of $54.5 million when compared to 2023, according to a February earnings release. Red Robin’s net loss was $77.5 million in 2024, compared to a net loss of $21.2 million in 2023, the company said.

Time will tell with this one, but from everyone at Kee On Sports, we are pulling for them to not be on the list.

In other news, McDonalds will be bringing back their McRib Sandwich this June.  It last appeared in December and they like to roll out it once every six months.  But what exactly is a McRib you ask?

  • The McRib is a boneless pork patty with barbecue sauce, onions, pickles, and McRib sauce on a homestyle bun.
  • The McRib sauce is flavored with spices, chili pepper, beet powder, onion and garlic powders, and “natural smoke flavor”.
  • The pork patty contains pork, water, dextrose, and rosemary extract.

Enjoy!
