Raw Recap: 5-13-19

We are back for another Monday Night Raw Recap. In this episode of Raw, we see the aftermath of the Wild-Card Rule, where any 4 Superstars from Smackdown Live can show up on Raw every week, and vice-versa. This will also be the final Raw before Money in the Bank, as well as the continuation of the Firefly Fun House.

Miz TV with Roman Reigns

The show opend with The Miz in the ring, hyping his Steel Cage Match with Shane McMahon this Sunday before having Roman Reigns come out as his guest. Roman cuts a promo about Elias, who he will be facing on Sunday. The Miz eventually tries to tell Roman that they should do a buddy movie together, before Roman shuts him down. He said The Miz is acting like his old self, when everyone wants to see the new Miz. After Miz says he is now truly on the WWE Universe’s side for the first time in his career, Shane McMahon comes out and “cancels” Miz TV by having Elias and Bobby Lashley attack them both from behind, leading to a tag team match.

Bobby Lashley and Elias vs. The Miz and Roman Reigns

Highlights:

-Shane McMahon keeps interferring throughout the match.

-Both teams surprisingly work well together.

-Lashley picking up Miz in a powerbomb from one leg.

Finish- The Miz goes for the tag, but Shane attacks Reigns for the disqualification. After the match, Shane, Elias, and Lashley beat on Miz and Reigns. Miz and Roman eventually fight them off.

Winner: The Miz and Roman Reigns viaDisqualification

We have a nice video package for AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins on Sunday, which made each man look great, except Seth bragged about beating Brock a little too much.

Next we see Braun Strowman get called into Shane’s Office. Sami Zayn wants Strowman’s Money in the Bank spot, and he is willing to fight him for it in a Falls Count Amywhere Match.  Braun agrees, saying he will eat Sami alive.

Mojo Rawley vs. Apollo Crews

-Mojo has some pretty cool face paint.

-Apollo tweaks his knee doing a flip, and Mojo attacks.

Finish- Mojo Rawley slams Apollo with and Alabama Slam for the win.

Winner: Mojo Rawley

Alexa Bliss is backstage and she lost her gear. A surprisingly less crazy Nikki Cross enters in, and feels bad for Alexa and says maybe she could talk to The McMahons about a replacement. Alexa then convinces Nikki to take her place in a Fatal-4-Way against the other Raw Money in the Bank Participants

Becky Lynch Contract Signing

The crowd are super hot for Becky as they chant “Becky Two Belts”. Michael Cole thinks that this is too much for Becky, which gets her fired up. Lacey and Charlotte each lay down their case for their matches on Sunday, with Charlotte trying to goad Lacey and Becky into a fight. Lacey and Charlotte attack Becky after the signing and put her through the table to end the segment.

Ricochet vs. Baron Corbin

Highlights:

Finish: Baron Corbin hits the End of Days out of nowhere on Ricochet for the win. After the match, Corbin climbs a ladder before getting pushed off by Ricochet.

Winner: Baron Corbin

-We see a recap of Samoa Joe verbally destroying Rey Mysterio’s son Dominick. Rey has an interview afterward, saying he is disgusted. He wants people to talk to his face if they have something to say. Cesaro comes to interrupt, saying that he thinks Dominick looks more like Joe than Rey. He asks if Rey even knows if Dominick is his true son (He is, he beat Eddie Guerrero in a Ladder Match for that right.) Rey heard enough and began to brawl with Cesaro, sending him packing. There will be a match later tonight.

AJ Styles cuts a promo, saying his Phenomenal Forearm was accidental, but if Rollins disrespects him, he won’t hold back.

Women’s Fatal-4-Way: Dana Brooke vs Nikki Cross vs. Naomi vs. Natalya

Highlights:

-Alexa Bliss is on commentary

-Nikki Cross is still acting crazy in the match

-Dana Brooke’s insane dive off of a ladder to everyone.

Rey Mysterio vs Cesaro

Highlights:

-Cesaro is still a fantastic wrestler

-Cesaro uppercuts Mysterio out of the air

-During the match, Cesaro attempted Rey’s finisher, which he brilliantly calls the Swiss-1-9.

Finish: Rey Mysterio hits the 6-1-9 and a splash for the win.

Winner: Rey Mysterio

The Revival cut a promo on The Usos, challenging them to a match and saying they will not be embarrassed any more

Firefly Funhouse Episode 4

This episode starts with Bray playing hide and seek with the audience. With him is Mercy, Rambling Rabbit (taped together), and Abby The Witch. He says that this week he has a secret, but he needs his fireflies to help him. He said there is still a lot of darkness in his head, but this time its different. He can control it.

The music then changes to a dark tune, and the pleasant room is replaced with a dark horror room. Bray has some sort of creepy mask on, looking like a Mercy meets Beetlejuice face, while a demonic voice says the lyrics of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”. It ends with a close-up of Bray with a demonic voice saying “Yowie Wowie!” before fading to black for that episode. This series continues to be the highlight of every single Raw episode

Seth Rollins has an interview, saying when he met AJ Styles 15 years ago, he looked up to him. Come Sunday, it will be the other way around.

Braun Strowman vs. Sami Zayn: Falls Count Anywhere

Highlights:

-Apparently the commentators can’t say “beer”, they have been saying “Adult Beverage”

-Braun and Sami fight in the merchandise area, with Baron Corbin sends Braun through a table.

-Braun fights back and throws ladders around Sami.

-After brawling, Drew McIntyre interferes as well. Sami and Braun come back to the arena.

-McIntyre and Corbin get involved again, putting Braun through a ladder.

Finish: Drew McIntyre hits the Claymore Kick on Braun Strowman and Corbin drags Sami onto him for the win. Afterwords, Corbin throws Sami at Braun who slams him through a table.

Winner: Sami Zayn

Overall: Better than the past two episodes, and an all around decent show leading to Money in the Bank.

Best Match: Cesaro vs. Rey Mysterio

Worst Match: Apollo Crews vs. Mojo Rawley
