by 1. Aladdin (1992)- Aladdin is a story of a “street rat” who falls in love with the princess every though she is set to be married to outside royalty from another city. Aladdin is sent to the cave of wonders from the sadistic Jafar who is the right hand of the sultan.
There he finds the magic lamp and unleashes the greatest character in Disney history for my money, the Genie. Genie is voiced by the always incredible and gone too soon, Robin Williams.
Williams is what sets this movie apart from all others. His witty banter with everyone in the movie will make you laugh no matter the number of viewings.
But what really sets this apart is the more tender and human feelings he was able to get across to viewers like only Robin Williams could.
Summed up perfectly after his untimely death was the cast of Aladdin’s tweet as the quote from the movie, “Genie now your free”. The film also has Oscar winning songs from Disney veteran Alan Menken in “A whole new world”.
This movie for me was the most fun of any animated movie I’ve ever seen when I was little and to this day ! Also the sega game of Aladdin was really fun and that level of jafar as the snake still pisses me off !!!
Honorable mention: Cars, Ratatoulllie, Peter Pan, and Jungle Book.
