Ranking The Greatest SummerSlams Of All Time

SummerSlam 2002

The night the torch was passed from The Rock to The Next Big Thing, Brock Lesnar as Lesnar took the WWE Championship from The Rock in the main event.  Not only did Lesnar win, but he did it cleanly.  This signaled a new era in the WWE.

This giant card also featured the return to the ring of Shawn Michaels for the first time in over four years.  HBK stole the show as always, with a dramatic and emotional win over his long-time best friend HHH.  The Game, would attack HBK afterwards, further kicking off what would become a classic feud.

The night began with a five-star barn burning classic between Kurt Angle and the newly arriving Rey Mysterio.  Angle would win, but not before getting pushed to his absolute limit in the process. In a match wit little to know story or build, it was Ric Flair looking impressive with a shocking win over Chris Jericho.

Eddie Guerrero further signaled that he was back, and better then ever sober with a fantastic 11-minute match against Edge.  This was when they had Eddie losing to everyone, but still looking great in the process and this truly re-started his career and kept him sober.

Also, in a dream match, Benoit lost his Intercontinental championship to RVD.  Their careers would take many twists and turns after that night.
