Fans loved to hate him, but the cold hard facts are that his mouth sells tickets, and his in ring work just keeps getting better and better. It’s now more apparent then ever, Khan sold out a 82,000 seat Wembley Stadium with MJF as his heel champion. That’s a lot of faith in the man who is better than you, and you know it! Although, that was also the climax of his run with Cole.
He knocked off so much top talent along the way. This includes a list of indy darlings Darby Allin, Jack Perry, Adam Cole, Bryan Danielson and Sammy Guevara. This also includes best friend at the time, Adam Cole and perhaps the greatest AEW Superstar of all time, in Kenny Omega.
He headlined Wembley and had a magical run that saw him get so far over as a heel, he actually became a babyface. It was also the longest title run of any kind in AEW history and one that placed MJF on the short list of one of the best in the world. If it wasn’t for two incredible runs in front of him, this would have been a lock for number one.
Which means the title fight at ALL IN will be swerves first big defence of his title at a PPV then…
