Ranking All 8 AEW World Champions

1rst

Jon Moxley

3 reigns totaling 347 days

His run will forever be paired up with the “Dark Ages” of the pandemic, as all but the first 3 weeks of it happened in front of no live fans. Still, even against All Odds, his first haul with the strap was incredible and helped keep fans engaged.  I can personally testify that I had lukewarm interest in AEW until I saw Mox defeat Jericho at Revolution 2020 and was hooked.  The buildup, the weigh in, all of it, got me invested and then the match was incredible.

His first title reign is the reason he is at the top of this list.  With title defenses over Mr. Brodie Lee, MJF, Brian Cage, Lance Archer and Eddie Kingston just to name a few.

During a time in which fans needed a champion they could believe in, Moxley was that guy.  Also, he bailed out both of CM Punk’s disastrous runs with the belt.
