WrestleMania – The original was such a hit, it saved the WWF and also jumpstarted the greatest tradition in sports entertainment history. The show didn’t have any five-star classic matches, but it had plenty of memorable moments that would help forge the next generation.
WrestleMania IV – A very fun card to go back and watch. It was four hours long and at that time, that was seen as too long. Can you even imagine what fours would feel like now? Almost like a vacation compared to today’s marathons.
The ending with the Mega Powers celebrating Savages tournament championship win, is a memory that every wrestling fan has seen replayed over and over again for good reason. A real classic!
WrestleMania XXX – Daniel Bryan raising the championships over his shoulder to close the night as confetti fell is one of the greatest moments in WrestleMania history. A win for the underdogs in life everywhere!
The Undertaker having his steak ended at the hands of Brock Lesnar remains the biggest shock in wrestling history. The rest of the card was solid and this was a night few will forget from the Superdome.
WrestleMania XII – Everyone remembers the Iron Man match between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart for the WWF Championship. For good reason, but, this card had several gems on it. A young HHH getting squashed by a returning Ultimate Warrior. Diesel vs Kevin Knash was an excellent battle of the big men.
It wasn’t a bad opener either as Vader teamed up with Owen Hart and The British Bulldog vs Yokozuna, Jake The Snake Roberts and Ahmed Johnson. We haven’t even mentioned the backlot brawl yet either!
WrestleMania 23 – WrestleMania was all grown up. This was the night Edge went through a ladder to open the show. Donald Trump helped Stone Cold Steve Austin and Bobby Lashley shave the head of Vince McMahon, (read that sentence twice). A wild night that saw John Cena and Shawn Michaels give everyone a pleasant surprise with a fantastic match to close the show.
WrestleMania VI – One match on this card was very good, one of the best ever. That was Hogan vs The Ultimate Warrior in a champion vs champion dream match. It was strong enough to entertain 67,000 strong at the Skydome. The rest of the card was lacking, and that is why this show received the ranking it did. Brutus Beefcake vs Mr. Perfect was also pretty good.
WrestleMania XVIII – One match on this card was very good, one of the best ever. That was Hogan vs The Rock in a icon vs icon dream match. It was strong enough to entertain 67,000 strong at the Skydome.
The rest of the card was lacking, and that is why this show received the ranking it did. Hogan couldn’t shake the Skydome jinx. The Undertaker vs Ric Flair was also pretty good.
