The North Ridgeville Rangers used a smothering defense to jump out to a 15-2 lead after one quarter of action Wednesday afternoon. Daylan Baker and Kat Credva had 5 each in the quarter to get the Rangers going as the Comets had no answers. The Rangers also had buckets from Grace Kingery and Laney Rumancik in the quarter as well. Perhaps most impressive was the foul shooting that saw them go 4 of 6 early on from the line.
The Rangers began to heat up in the second quarter as Brooke Lime came off the bench to drain a three as part of her 5 point second quarter. Kerr, Baker and Crevda combined for 11 more as the Rangers took a commanding 31-18 lead into the break.
The Comets were paced by a couple of Natalie Pleban three balls to keep it somewhat close during that stretch. They also had a three ball from Jocelyn George. For Jocelyn, that was one of two three balls on the night that saw her finish with 6 total points.
Try as they might, the Comets just couldn’t climb back in this one as the Rangers took the 57 – 43 home victory. There is a good chance these two teams hook up again on Feb 17th in the second round of the playoffs.

I credit a solid Ridgeville team for beating our lady comets . These girls again played there tails off . If our coach is ever to make the right adjustments we can get some wins and build the girls confidence. He fails to time and time again which results In a loss . I don’t know what’s worse that or him standing almost to the 3 point line screaming . Keep your heads up girls your future is bright !
