It was a wild one folks! First Amherst jumped out to a big lead, and then Avon Lake came back to take the lead 16-14 by halftime.
Then a wild melee led to Avon Lake up being up by 5 with 10 seconds to go. Amherst would bury a three, force a turnover on the inbound and then have a shot to tie or win with 1.1 seconds left.

I don’t know what was worse the classless Amherst coach almost having to be restrained or watching the poor old Avon Lake coach who has been coaching way to long and needs to retire. Avon Lake it’s time for a fresh start and some new ideas to get this shoregals program back on the map . We have 4 wins with all this talent and yes we could win our next 2 because of a weak opponents . But my gosh 6 wins with group …
Another game, another tough loss for the Lady Comets. This team has talent, but there has been little improvement throughout the season and that is concerning. They run one offensive play that usually results in a turnover or bad shot. No easy buckets for this team. It’s no wonder they continue to be out coached in every game. Advice to the Amherst coach-look in the mirror, take accountability, adapt your coaching style, run some plays that actually work, instill confidence in these girls and motivate them to be their best. What you’re doing is embarrassing and is not working. This team has talent, but it’s not even close to being utilized to its potential. The Lady Comets basketball program deserves much better!
I agree ☝️. What in the world is this guy doing . This coach has no clue . This is the time you get better not worse . So let me get this straight you let go of a coach last year because he won 3 games in a covid crazy year and started 5 freshman and you all knew the loses would maybe pile because he was building for the future because he saw talent in 5 young ladies who had potential.So let’s get rid of him . I think he had 2 14 win seasons prior . And he almost won a district championship. He probably is the last guy to beat falls who just clobbers everyone but he beat them in the playoffs. But get rid of him 🤦🏼♂️. I blame that on the AD the one that got away !
I’m not confident this was the A.D.’s decision. He’s a smart guy.

You all are crazy he’s a winner . He’s from L-town he took the boys places they won . But… you maybe right this old clown doesn’t belong coaching the girls at Amherst ! Bye bye coach
Such a shame. Sounds like both programs have a head coach issue. AD is responsible or irresponsible in these cases. AL …4 wins … that’s catastrophic with many returning players. No improvement … And good players will go elsewhere …we are definitely seeing that happen. Girls sports deserve better than what is happening. They need strong female leaders in most cases, imo. All girls schools are talented and it shows.
I agree ☝️. With the talent Avon Lake has they should have more wins. Let’s get a coach who will put these girls in the best situation to succeed . Get a coach that will build the youth travel teams and be involved. Get a coach who is familiar with Avon Lake basketball and the toughest basketball conference around . If we don’t figure this out kids will leave and go to private schools ,
