Pro Wrestling Five Count

Welcome to this week’s edition of Pro Wrestling Five Count

1 – The continued question remains “when will fans be back in the stands?”  The WWE is slowly allowing family members and friends to creep in as they remain within the rules.  States are opening further and further and we can only hope that it is back to at least 35% capacity by SummerSlam if not much sooner.

Only time will tell but until then the WWE and AEW need to keep the straps on their World Champions.  Both Dean Ambrose, Braun Strowman and Drew McIntyre deserve a run with fans in the crowd to truly gauge if it is working or not.  Right now, you can’t tell anything based on social media and articles.  Allow the fans in the crowd to make the ultimate choice.

2 – The Undertaker announced his retirement on the final episode of “The Last Ride” this past weekend.  Overall, the series was good, not great, but the ending served its purpose and showed the fans the man behind the legend.  I’m glad they did it because Mark Calloway deserved that and so much more.  He is a one of a kind that can bever be duplicated.

Will he stay retired is the big question?  I actually believe he will, he seemed at peace going out with his Boneyard match against AJ Styles.  He literally rode off into the night on his bike.  That’s it, roll credits and induct him in the Hall of Fame where he belongs!

3 – I really like the pairing of  Randy Orton with Ric Flair.  They needed to do something with Ric Flair under contract to justify the money they are paying him, and this is the first real purpose he has had with the company since the early days of Charlotte on the main roster.  Bring on the legends one by one until Orton finally puts Flair out in the ultimate iron months from now.

4- The NXT Three-way Dance for the United States Championship this week with Johnny Gargano, Finn Balor and Keith Lee looks as though it will be an instant classic.  I cannot wait for this one to go down!

With a chance at Cole on the line for champion vs champion, this one is can’t miss and is sure to deliver. It will be the first time in the “RONA ERA” that I will be taping AEW and watching NXT live.

5 – Speaking of AEW, they will now deal with their first bit of adversity.  Sammy Guevara who I have gone on the record several times saying is one of the very best pound for pound performers in the game, is now suspended for the time being. Audio leaked of him saying some horrendous rape orientated things about Sasha Banks from almost five years ago.

AEW, who has taken such a strong stance in the Black Lives Matter and also Speak Out movements, would not stand for this. I agree on the suspension, but also believe that Sammy G is young and a lot of people say stupid things when they are young and cocky.  He needs to learn from this, I believe he will and I believe he is genuine in his apologies.

It is good to correct now, the last thing you want is another Brock Lesnar sexual harassment encounter with Terri Runnels that goes years before it comes out. Click on the below interview we did with Terri Runnels last night as she describes the horrific details of the sexual assault.

Wrestling With Legends Podcast: Terri Runnels

Same thing goes for Matt Riddle, I can only hope that he gets to tell his side of the story, because if that accusation it true, wrestling may be in a very dark place.

Until Next Week, this has been Pro Wrestling Five Count
