Petition To Save High School Soccer & Football In Ohio

As reported by KEE On Sports Media Group last night, the stipulations to play contact sports in Ohio currently is that players and coaches will need to be tested 72 hours before EVERY game/scrimmage this season.

Any player who has tested positive is not allowed to play, and the team’s contest is canceled. The coaches and players must have their COVID test in hand before the start of the game.

This ruling is directly from the Ohio Department of Health as mandated last evening.  If this ruling stands, then there will be no contact sports (Soccer & Football) in Ohio this fall as schools simply cannot afford the mass testing each week.  Non-contact sports can continue without testing.

If you believe a temperature reading should suffice and a check for any symptoms Related to COVID sign the petition.  If you believe they should remove this stipulation for the 2020 season please sign your name in the comment section below, and share the petition on all social media formats.

  1. When your fear of being sued outweighs your fear of what happens to the kids physical and mental well-being, what you’re doing is wrong. Let the kids play.

  2. Please don’t take sports away from these great kids. Keep them active . They need to stay busy, don’t let politics interfere with these kids. Open schools keeps sports going🏈🏈🏈

  3. Save the falls sports, testing healthy kids is not needed. Sick, stay home, scared stay home. Let them play!!

    1. At this point I feel it should be up to the parents to decide if our children play or NOT… PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS AWAY FROM THEM TOO! They have all worked so hard & their mental health is EXTREMELY important as well. Most of these children have already lost one season of sports and don’t deserve to lose anymore!

  4. Let tham play. After losing my senior baseball season, I would not want to see the same thing happen to the class of 2021s senior season.

  5. School sports are a corner stone to a healthy community. Effective leadership can and will find a way to conduct it safely. Let the teachers and coaches lead their students , open the schools up!, to learning and sports

  6. Let them play and quit worrying about tests…. even if one kid gets it the whole team should NOT be punished.

  7. Let them play! Each student along with their parents makes the decision, there is already some risk in playing a contact sport, this is simply another choice. High School sports provide a vehicle for all students to participate, if not as an athlete then as a fan, team/staff assistant , news reporter, ticket taker, concession stand helper, cheerleader, band member don’t erase all of these activities completely. It may be necessary to modify the form of certain activities it certainly is not necessary to eliminate them.
