For years, the Peacock streaming app was merely a way for us to watch WWE content in my home. But as time went on, there would be miniseries promo’s too good to pass up. Eventually, I couldn’t resist anymore and started watching the ones that grabbed my attention the most and became MUST WATCH!
With that being the case, I have watched quite a few, with 5 of them going above beyond what I expected to the point where I binge watched them each in a matter of days because they were that damn good!
Here now, are the 5 best on the Networks App that I would highly recommend watching.
Killing It
The hilarious journey of a single father trying to win back time with his daughter and ex wife by entering a snake killing contest. The main goal is to raise enough money to open up his own pharmaceutical company and begin rebuilding his life.
The main character Craig is played by Craig Robinson who absolutely “Kills” the role! His sidekicks include his uber drive turned partner, Jillian and his sometime friend, sometime enemy Brock with his son Corby. Things are never easy as he deals with his crooked and con man brother Rodney who is constantly getting Craig into trouble.
The show is just flat out hilarious and will keep you guessing time after time as it is far from predictable. You don’t have to worry too much about nudity, but there are several ultra-violent and extremely bloody scenes to accompany nonstop swearing.

A friend of the family
The made for tv movie details the kidnappings of Jan Broberg, an Idaho child who was abducted by her neighbor Robert Berchtold in the 1970s on two occasions. It shows how mastermind Berchtold used his charm to have sex with the father, the mother and then abduct the daughter twice. It is NUTS!
You walk away from this one stunned numerous times that people can be this damn stupid, but the Broberg family was manipulated perfectly into this tragedy. The acting is incredible, and the true story is written to perfection, with every dramatic moment harder to stomach then the last.
By the end of it, you get so emotionally invested into this mess, that you feel like one of your own has been taken. What is ultra wild is that after the first kid napping and raping, the teenage girl runs away to be with him again, and despite knowing exactly where they are at the second time around, the family makes zero effort to go get her. It is insane!

Mr. Throwback
I was never a Steph Curry fan until watching this fake docuseries. It is HILAROUS. Honestly, one of the funniest things I have ever watched in my entire life. The story of a childhood friend coming back into Curry’s life, and then creating a series of lies about his sick kid, ( who is completely healthy) captivate the entire country. The thing is, even though Danny Grossman, his childhood friend causing the havoc is the “bad guy”, it is written from the perspective that you root for him and want to see him get away it.
Grossman, is still recovering from a messed up childhood that led to a worse adulthood, but even with that, you find yourself pulling for him. The smartest thing Peacock did with this one was not make it about Curry, he is just a bit part. They focus on Grossman and his world caving in, and that is why it works so well. Much like “Killing It”, there is one shocking twist and turn after another, that keeps you guessing and hitting, “watch next episode” the second it comes up.
I have never laughed so hard in my life, and two minutes later, found my heart breaking for a character. It is written that well. Again, you do not need to be a fan of Curry to enjoy this show, you just need an open mind, an open heart and some extra time on your hands. Everyone can hear the premise and say, “oh that’s awful, I would never do that”, but then you hear the backstory of Grossman, and it all makes perfect sense. Simply incredible!

Bronx Zoo 90’s Crime, Chaos and Baseball
As a fan who grew up in the 80’s and 90’s I saw the best and worst of the New York Yankees. Because of this, they slowly became my favorite team in the late 1990’s. I became hooked on the legacy, the dynasty, the way they went about doing things, and just pure class. All I had to base any of this on was the on-field product and what I read in the papers. Little did I know about the literal zoo including cougars that surrounded this team in 1990.
The best parts include the feud between Dave Winfield and George Steinbrenner. Mel Hall, a grown as man, dating a 15 year old girl and the parents of the girl being okay with it to the point that they allow him to move in, and then takeover their bedroom as they offered to sleep in the guest room. How about the legend of Deon Sanders lack of work ethic combined with the Yankees not wanting to pay Don Mattingly?
This franchise, for everything it became in the 1990’s, couldn’t have started off any worse. After watching this, it is a wonder they ever won a game. Just a hot mess that you need to see! Including when their pitcher threw a no hitter, and still lost 4-0!
You don’t have to be a baseball fan to watch this, but if you are, the better off you will be.

Paul T Goodman
I don’t want to say too much here, because I don’t want to give away the ending. All I will say is this, you will never go from rooting for a guy so hard, to booing the crap out of him so quickly! It starts off innocent, but the longer it goes on, Paul becomes a BS artist the likes of which, politicians would have to tip their hat too. In the end, you ask yourself, do I believe all that happened or not? If so, who’s fault was it?
