Summer Park 2023 made it’s 20th stop of the season to Liberty Park in Independence for the first time ever. What a gem this park turned out to be. It had everything from baseball fields, to playgrounds, to zip lines to a Safety Town. It is right outside of the Rec Center and Library, and fits Independence perfectly. A great park for an amazing city!

Access to the park
Grade – A
Easy to find as you simply have to look for Independence High School / Rec Center / Baseball Fields / Library/ Football Field etc. So many great things in one spot.
Cleanliness
Grade – A
One of the cleanest parks we’ve ever been too. It was as if they live in a bubble, because there wasn’t anything out of place or dirty at all.
Things to do at the park
Grade – A
Zipline, slides, tunnel slides, swing sets, rock walls, gaga ball, the metal round spiny thing of injury, monkey bars, jungle gyms, safety town etc.. everything a kid could want!
Places for parents to sit
Grade – A
Plenty of places to sit in the shade and still have a perfect view of your child.
Bathroom Situation
Grade – B
The indoor plumbing was nice, but you have to search to find it as nothing near the playground actually says, “bathroom”.
Best part of the park
The massive variety of things to do. It truly has something for the entire family to enjoy.
Would we go back?
Not only will we go back, but this is the kind of park that has us considering moving to Independence. Simply incredible!
