Stop 3 on the 2023 Summer Park Tour took us to Big Clague Park in Westlake Ohio. This is located on the corner of Hillard and Clague, with the best access to the playground from the Hillard Rd entrance. This particular park is a family favorite not only for the pool and baseball fields, but for the incredible playground that this article is focused on.
With that being the case, let’s get right to the grades for this playground.

Access to the park
Grade – B
Here is the thing, there is plenty of parking, but, unless you want to crawl through the pool area, the best parking solution is to take the Hillard Road entrance as it will lead you right to the playground, which again, is what this particular post is about.
Things to do
Grade – A
This is honestly one of the best parks in the area because it has so much to do and my children LOVE IT! From everything to a Zipline, Double Swing set and Rubber Hill, to a Walkthrough jungle gym, 6 different slides, large spinner and rock wall, plus much more. You can stay for at least two hours and not get bored.
Places for parents to sit
Grade – B
There are several benches, and one pavilion area that is covered up if it starts to rain. The only problem is that it doesn’t give you a full view of the park, so unless you’re sitting directly by whatever area is your child is at, you will need to keep moving as they move.
Cleanliness
Grade – A
It is clean, not much if any bird poop, no mud, and just straight up clean. Great job Westlake!
Bathroom
Grade – F
It’s the only poor rating this park will get. The only bathroom is locked and reserved for people who rent the cabin area for parties. Quite frankly, it is 2023, the fact that Porta Potties are the only option is insane and degrading. How does the city of Westlake not have the money to afford a nice bathroom facility at their biggest park?
Best part of the park
The Zipline!
Would I recommend
Yes!
