Los Canaleros found the match-winner in the 90’+4. Cecilio Waterman scored with a right-footed shot that curled into the left corner of the net.

Later that night, with two goals from Raúl Jiménez, Mexico advanced to its third Nations League final and second consecutive. Jiménez struck the opening goal in the 1’ with a right-footed finish to pounce on a loose ball inside the box. The Mexican forward scored again, in the 75’ with a precise free kick just inside the right post to beat the Canadian wall and St. Clair.
