Olmsted Falls proves to be dominant in 32-7 victory of Brunswick (Video Included)

On a beautiful Friday night, the Brunswick Blue Devils host the Bulldogs from Olmsted Falls in a week two non-conference matchup. Both these teams took a loss to start the year, making this game crucial to see a W in the win column.

Brunswick put together a solid drive to start the game due to the feet of sophomore QB Ethan Roksandich. This drive would end thanks to an interception from Bulldogs senior Mark Vance. The Bulldogs would take advantage of getting the ball back by putting together a 17-play drive to take the lead with a Rocco Conti one-yard touchdown (6-0 Olmsted Falls).

Olmsted Falls would get the ball back after forcing a three and out and get a quick touchdown by fullback Derek Neckar to increase the Bulldogs lead (13-0 Olmsted Falls). Olmsted Falls was able to dominate quickly and establish their run game early.

Ethan Roksandich and his Blue Devils had a steady drive going at the end of the half. This drive was due to Roksandich using his feet to gain a chunk of yards to move into the Bulldogs redzone. This drive would end with an excellent interception by Tyler Jozity.

The score at the end of the half would be 13-0 as the Bulldogs held a lead thanks to their strong run game and dominant defense.

To start the second half the Bulldogs showed how strong they can be with the ball. They drove down the field with their signature wing-T triple option, spreading the ball out to their playmakers. They scored with their biggest play maker, Rocco Conti as he ran for another one-yard touchdown (19-0 Olmsted Falls).

For the first and only time in the game the Blue Devils put together a complete drive. Brunswick showed last week that they are capable of big-time plays, Roksandich connected to one of his favorite targets Jack Safko for their first and only touchdown on the day (19-7 Olmsted Falls).

As soon as it felt that Brunswick gained any momentum the Bulldogs would strike fast on the kickoff return. Jack Pinchek received the short kick and took it 80 yards to the house (25-7 Olmsted Falls).

Pinchek’s kickoff return would prove to be the deciding factor in the game. The Bulldogs would score one more time and shut down the Blue Devils offense for the remainder of the game. The 32-7 victory for Olmsted Falls proved how strong this Bulldogs team will be this year ,while Brunswick showed glimpses of what can be a solid team.

James Rosol would end the game completing six of his seven passes for 48 yards.

Ethan Roksandich started off the game slow but ended with a decent stat line going 6-14 with 98 yards one touchdown and two interceptions.

Rocco Conti was the leading rusher with 13 carries, 70 yards, and two short yardage touchdowns.

Our back attack snacks player of the game is Olmsted Falls senior Jack Pinchek. He finished the game with 118 total yards and a touchdown to his name.
