Olmsted Falls Pounds North Ridgeville 49-19

Both teams walked into the second game of conference play 1-0 and 3-1 overall. Olmsted Falls has looked solid in each game despite a close loss in week two, while North Ridgeville is still trying to find their identity offensively.

The first half was all Bulldogs; they would put 42 unanswered points on the board before the Rangers could get any offense going. Charlie Ciolek and Rocco Conti combined for six touchdowns total in the first half alone.

Conti was utilized in outside run plays where he gained over 150 all purpose yards. He also hauled in a big touchdown grab after getting free on the far side of the field.

Ciolek was able to get it done with his feet. The Rangers couldn’t find a way to slow Ciolek and the Bulldogs down.

The first five touchdowns all came from the dynamic duo and the wing T, as miss direction and quick hitting run plays allowed the offensive line to clear space for the back field.

A five-yard run from Conti would start them off in the first quarter on their first possession. They would get a quick stop to get the ball back around midfield. Ciolek rolled out in a play action fake as he launched the ball down the field to Conti for the second TD and the only passing TD for Ciolek on the night.

Conti would score twice more on the ground and Ciolek would get his first rushing touchdown in the first half.

At the end of the first, the Rangers offense would finally get that big play they were working for from QB Jacob Madis. He was the workhorse for the Rangers as he willed the team to their 19 points.

Madis would run 70 yards to the house right before half time to finally put numbers on the board.

Halftime changed the course of the game. The Bulldogs had a 42-6 lead but came out of the locker room a bit flat. The Rangers also seemed to settle down.

Madis launched an 80-yard touchdown and a 20-yard TD to boost his stats on the game. Those three touchdowns would be it for the Rangers. The Bulldogs would score one more rushing touchdown from Luke Dieckman ending the game at 49-19.

The Rangers drop to 3-2 as league play continues. They will be home against Avon as they have a tough task ahead of them.

Olmsted Falls proves themselves as one of the top teams in the SWC while moving to 4-1 and undefeated in league play. The Bulldogs will take on Elyria at home next week as they will try to remain undefeated in conference play.

The player of the game is junior Rocco Conti. His explosive playmaking put the Bulldogs ahead early by 35 in just the first quarter. Conti had 10 rushes for over 120 yards on the ground, over 150 total yards with four touchdowns. Conti’s downhill running ability and versatility makes him a top offensive player in the SWC.
