Olmsted Falls Lady Bulldogs Dominate Elyria Lady Pioneers with a 90-9 Conference Victory
Olmsted Falls, OH: The Olmsted Falls Lady Bulldogs delivered a commanding performance against the Elyria Lady Pioneers, securing a 90-9 win in a game marked by relentless offense and airtight defense. The Bulldogs set the tone from the opening tip, leaving little room for Elyria to find any momentum.
First Quarter
Olmsted Falls wasted no time establishing control. After winning the tip, the Bulldogs moved the ball efficiently, finding Avery DeLisio for the game’s first three-pointer. Elyria struggled to respond as Olmsted Falls’ defense smothered their attempts to push the pace. Jesse Simon added a transition three, and after a quick steal on the inbound, DeLisio hit another three from the top of the key.
Emma Schaefer contributed on both ends, scoring on a put-back rebound and sinking another three a few possessions later. Despite a hard foul from Elyria’s Danielle Witten, Schaefer added a free throw as the Bulldogs extended their run to 17-0. Elyria finally broke their drought with two free throws from KaMarianna Scott, but Olmsted Falls quickly answered with a layup by Maddie Cerovac.
Scott added another layup in transition for the Lady Pioneers, but Simon and Lily Krall responded with back-to-back put-back baskets. DeLisio connected on a wide-open three, and Schaefer closed out the quarter with a transition layup, giving Olmsted Falls a commanding 30-4 lead.
Second Quarter
The Bulldogs continued their dominance in the second quarter, with Schaefer opening the scoring on a scoop-and-score layup. Witten picked up her third foul early in the quarter, putting more of a dent in Elyria’s efforts. Olmsted Falls kept up the pressure as Addison Mullen converted a rebound into a layup, and Cerovac dished a perfect assist to Grace Largent for another easy two.
After several offensive rebounds, DeLisio scored on a layup and later assisted Carli Nagy for a three-pointer from the top of the key. Elyria’s Scott briefly slowed the onslaught with a three-pointer from the wing, but Simon answered immediately with a three of her own. Elyria’s Brooklyn Cruz-Barnett missed two free throws, and DeLisio punished them with another three-pointer to push the Bulldogs’ lead to 58-7 at halftime.
Third Quarter
Simon opened the third quarter with a layup, followed by a three from Largent. Cerovac added to the lead with a transition layup, and Schaefer completed an and-one opportunity. Elyria found a rare highlight when Cruz-Barnett stole the ball and scored in transition, but the Bulldogs quickly countered with a three from Riley Bragg. Ella Meczka added a steal and a layup to end the quarter, with Olmsted Falls leading 77-9.
Fourth Quarter
With more of the same result, Cerovac started the final quarter with a smooth layup, and Nagy hit back-to-back three-pointers to cap off her strong night. Meczka sealed the game by sinking one of two free throws as Olmsted Falls cruised to a 90-9 victory.
Moving Forward
With 13 made three-pointers and a relentless defensive presence, the Bulldogs solidified their status as a top contender this season. They are trying to get back to states as they took home a title last year.
Key Performers
Olmsted Falls was led by Jesse Simon, who scored 15 points and hit three three-pointers. There were many other key contributors as well. You know what is great about Coach Eaton, he just teaches his team to play the game the right way and doesn’t talk any trash on twitter. Nothing worse then a coach with a losing record but Titan mouth on twitter.
Bulldog lover , Titan on Twitter has done a swell job this year with Berea has improved its record each year . I don’t care if he was 16-33 his first 2 years we are on the rise at 10-5 this year. We will continue to grow and win games. Keep fighting Coach , all the haters – we show em
