Olmsted Falls came out on their home floor and showed why they are a top team in the state. They defeated John Marshall 78-16 to advance to the district semi-finals.
They started the game putting pressure on the Lawyers with a full court press. The Bulldogs forced countless turnovers and jumped out to a 14-0 lead. Every girl on the bench would see the floor in the first quarter. The full team effort gave the Bulldogs a 28-2 lead after one.
The second quarter was much of the same. Terrific defense led to run outs and easy shots for the Bulldogs. Eight points from Paige Kohler and nine points from freshman Avery DeLisio gave the Bulldogs a 49-6 halftime lead. Khalialah Lewis lead the scoring for the Lawyers at the break with four.
Coming out of halftime the dominance continued for Olmsted Falls. The Bulldogs started this half on a 13-0 run behind ten points from Danielle Cameron. John Marshall had their best scoring quarter to this point as they tallied seven points, but the game was already too far out of reach as the Bulldogs lead 66-13.
The final buzzer sounded, and the Bulldogs took this one 78-16. Every player on the Bulldogs team would not only see the floor but score at least one basket. A very impressive feat that shows the depth and talent this team has.
Coach Eaton said that “ They have been working hard every day for a really long time and this is the result of that.”
The Bulldogs will now move on to the district semi-final. Coach Eaton and the Bulldogs know that every game from here on out will get more difficult and they must continue to play their brand of basketball.
