NORTH RIDGEVILLE, OH – The Bulldogs spread out the ball well, played defense in the paint, and forced turnovers early on in their 51-41 win today at North Ridgeville.  Danielle Cameron used a big second half to lead all Bulldog scorers with 18 as Maddie Cerovac poured in 14 and Jesse Simon had 10.  Jessica Wolanin had a nice night with 5 while Grace Largent and Emma Schaefer had 2 each.  Emily Scina finished the scoring with 3.

For North Ridgeville, they were led by their two seniors in Grace Kingery with 22 and Brooke Lime who finished with 11.  It was nice to see some points coming from fellow senior Kailey Shulz who finished with 4 points on two very nice shots, while CC Bouman had 4 points, all coming in the second quarter with the game still in doubt.  Shulz is a shooter when she has even an inch of room, she will nail it.

Midway through the first, back to back threes by Kingery and Lime gave the Rangers a 6-5 lead, after they had begun by trailing 5-0. A few moments later, it was back to back threes from the Bulldogs as Ranger coverage breakdowns led to big shots from Cameron and Emily Scina, and with 2:13 left in the first, the Bulldogs held a 13-8 lead. Olmsted Falls finished the quarter on a run and took a 23-10 lead after 1 quarter of action with big shots coming from Maddie Cerovac and Jesse Simon.

Back to back three balls by Wolanin and Cerovac got it started for the Bulldogs in the second. CC Bouman kept fighting for the Rangers with 4 quick points herself, but it was still a 31-14 Bulldogs lead. The relentless Bulldog defense didn’t allow the Rangers to have any inside presence, that was perhaps the biggest point that came out of the first half.  They caused turnovers in the paint, and forced the Rangers outside. By halftime, it was 37-24 Bulldogs. To their credit, the Rangers showed the heart of their coach Amy Esser and just kept fighting to keep it within striking distance heading into the break.

Danielle Cameron began to heat up again in the third, as she poured in 10 more in the period, to extend the Bulldogs lead to 51-34 after three.  The Bulldogs went on from there to cruise to a 51-41 victory.
