Olmsted Falls Defeats North Ridgeville 55-20 in SWC Clash

Avery DeLisio scored 17 points, all in the first half, to lead the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs to victory over their SWC rival North Ridgeville today by a final score of 55-20.  She nailed 5 shots from long distance, including 4 of those coming in the first quarter to help build a Bulldog lead that was too much to match.

Scoring 11 for the Bulldogs was Jesse Simon, all of which came in the second half while Maddie Cerovac had 9 and Addison Mullen had 6.  The Bulldogs scoring was finished off by Carli Nagy with 5, Emma Schaefer with 4 and Ella Meczka had 2.  Reese Timura chipped in with a point as well.

The Rangers were led in scoring by Gabby Thibodeaux with 5 while CC Bouman had 4.  Rounding out the scoring for the Rangers was Lauryn Bohannan, Maddie Kuhn and Adrianna Spyres with 3 each while Marisa Slack finished with 2.

The game actually started off a bit quiet as neither team scored until Emma Schaefer broke the scoring seal with a fast break turnover bucket nearly 3 minutes into the action.  Following a Jordan Eaton Bulldog timeout, the Falls crew came out gunning as Avery DeLisio wasted no time hitting back to back three balls to make it 8-1 in a flash.

The Rangers first field goal didn’t come until the six minute in mark by Gabby Thibodeaux, but by that time it was already 12-3 Olmsted Falls in front. For Olmsted Falls, Avery DeLisio stayed red hot, nailing two more from long range, sandwiched in between was one from Addison Mullen from the outside, handing the Bulldogs a commanding 21-3 lead after one.

The Bulldogs didn’t take their foot off the gas and scored 5 points in the first 35 seconds of the fourth quarter to blow the game open at 26-3.  The points coming on another DeLisio three ball and a layup off of a turnover from Maddie Cerovac. Thibodeaux managed to stop the bleeding for a moment for the Rangers with a three, but a dominant quarter end run by the Bulldogs that saw 7 straight from Jesse Simon at one point, handed Olmsted Falls a commanding 43-13 halftime lead.

Things went from bad to worse for North Ridgeville in the third, as they only managed to score two points the entire quarter.  Most of it was played with a running clock however, as the Bulldogs built the lead to 49-15 after three quarters.  Olmsted Falls went on to win 55-20.
