Olmsted Falls Cruises Past Fremont Ross to Advance

Olmsted Falls, OH – The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs handled business against the Fremont Ross Little Giants in the opening round of the OHSAA Playoffs winning by a final score of 69-38. Head Coach Tom DeLuca had his Bulldogs ready in this one as their run game dominated from start to finish. Owen Singleton led the way with three touchdowns on the ground followed by Logan Connelly with 2 of his own with his legs.

Olmsted Falls took over early in the game on both sides of the ball. The run game was not to be messed with, and their defense was not allowing the Little Giants to move the ball. Three rushing touchdowns by the Bulldogs coupled with a defensive fumble recovery by Andrew Minor gave Olmsted Falls an early 21-0 lead in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, not much changed offensively for the Bulldogs. They piled on three more touchdowns in the quarter. One through the air from Cameron Pesch to Logan Connelly and the others on the ground. Arguably the biggest moment in the game was when senior running back Owen Singleton became the All-Time Career rushing yards leader for the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs. The Little Giants were able to get their offense going a bit, however.

Junior QB Breylen Garza found Mason Englund for a 60-yard catch and run touchdown to get Ross on the board. Later in the quarter Garza found Dylan McDonald in the end zone for a long TD. Ross missed both extra points and trailed Olmsted Falls headed into halftime by a score of 42-12.

The second half featured an on-and-off running clock as the Bulldogs and Little Giants traded scores throughout. Neither offense seemed like they could be stopped. The duo of Singleton and Connelly continued to wreak havoc on the Ross defense as they continued to put up big yardage plays and scores.

The Ross offense continued its attack through the air as well as big plays on the ground from running back Tallon Brown. Brown found the end zone on multiple drives in the second half for the Little Giants. Wide receivers Mason Englund and Dylan McDonald continued to put their stamp on the game. They both scored a touchdown in the second half as well.

Late in the 4th quarter, Owen Radigan scooped up a kickoff at his own 18 yard line and took it 82 yards to the house to put the nail in the coffin for the Bulldogs. It was Radigan’s 2nd score of the game. In the end, Olmsted Falls came out on top over the Little Giants 69-38.

Congratulations to the Ross Little Giants on an incredible season and best of luck to them next season. For Olmsted Falls, they will travel to take on an SWC opponent in the Avon Eagles.
