Olmsted Falls Bulldogs Take A Bite Out Of Middies 34-7 On Opening Night

The Bulldogs had to wait and extra 45 minutes or so to begin extracting revenge from last year’s stunning loss at the hands of Midview, but they made it count with a 34-7 drubbing of the Middies. They scored all 34 points on the ground and looked unstoppable doing it.

It was the return of the vaunted Olmsted Falls three headed rushing monster with Ryan Feskanich, Andrew Parkowski and Rocco Conti leading this year’s attack.  All three stepped up in a big way tonight, scoring multiple times and stock piling up the yards.

Ryan Feskanich rushed it 9 times for 152 yards, scoring twice along the way.  Rocco Conti had a big second half to finish with 150 yards and a touchdown.  He also caught one pass for 16 yards.  Andrew Parkowski plowed in for two scores and 55 yards on 12 carries.

Despite rain-soaked conditions, the Bulldogs signal caller Charlie Ciolek was careful with the ball and ran the RPO and triple option very well.  Ciolek knew exactly when to pitch it and also keep it, which kept the Middies defense guessing all game long.

The Bulldogs defense also kept the Middie attack in check with constant pressure up the middle all evening.  Midview seldom crossed midfield, and when they did, they couldn’t get into the red zone. They only did once all game and it was off a shanked punt.

Midview QB Ethan Surdock finished with 108 yards on 11 of 24 passing.  Surdock also had 12 carries for 25 yards.  He was careful with the ball, not turning it over and did have the one touchdown pass to Joey Bratkovich.

After both teams went for it on fourth down on their opening drives, failing to convert, it was Olmsted Falls who drew first blood.  Feskanich finished off the Bulldogs first scoring drive with a 7-yard touchdown run.

On the drive, it was Andrew Parkowski busting loose for a 32-yard scamper to set the Bulldogs up in the red zone.  New place kicker Drew Kanaba would miss the extra point, keeping the score at 6-0.

The second quarter was all Bulldogs as they scored two more touchdown runs by Andrew Parkowski and Ryan Feskanich to take a commanding 20-0 lead into the half as Kanaba nailed both extra points.

After taking the opening kickoff of the second half, it was more Bulldogs as they expanded their lead to 27-0 with another Andrew Parkowski touchdown run.

From there, the Middies managed to take advantage of a drive that started at the Bulldog 15 after a shanked punt.  It was there that Surdock hooked up with Bratkovich for their lone score of the evening.

The Bulldogs would finish things off in the fourth quarter as Rocco Conti took a beautiful pitch sweep from Ciolek, 67 yards down the Midview sidelines to score and to end all doubt on the rain-soaked night.

Our players of the game were

Ryan Feskanich from Olmsted Falls with 152 yards and two touchdowns.

Joey Bratkovich of Midview with 4 catches for 60 yards and a touchdown.
