Olmsted Falls overcame a slow start for a dominant 60-37 road win at Amherst tonight. The Bulldogs were driven by the scoring prowess of Jesse Simon who finished with 22, including 9 of those from long range while fellow scoring assassin Danielle Cameron tallied 13 herself.
The Bulldogs, as they always do, played great defense and spread the ball around. Tonight was no different as 9 different Bulldogs saw the scorecard. Jessica Wolanin had 11 while Ally Rumancik, Maddie Cerovac and Grace Largent scored 3 each. It was Avery DeLisio, Ava Mahoney and Emma Schaefer finishing the Bulldog scoring with 2 each.
For Amherst, they were led by Kristen Kelley with 13 while Bradyn Silvasy had 11 and Kayla Ferancy scored 8. Ava Darmos finished the Comet scoring with 5.
As mentioned, the Bulldogs needed to come from behind tonight, in almost stunning fashion as they actually trailed 14-13 after one quarter. From there however, it was all Bulldogs as Simon and Cameron caught fire the rest of the night. By halftime, after an incredible 20-4 lopsided quarter in favor of the Bulldogs gave them the 33-17 lead at the break, there was no looking back from there.
The Olmsted Falls Lady Bulldogs will finish their regular season looking to get revenge on their first regular season SWC loss in 4 years as they host Avon Lake with the SWC Crown on the line. If Olmsted Falls wins, they will claim sole ownership to it. If they lose, we’re looking at a three-way tie between Olmsted Falls, Avon Lake and North Ridgeville, if the Rangers can get by Berea-Midpark.
The Comets will next travel to Elyria this Saturday for their final SWC game of the year.
On a side note, I just want to say how nice it was watching Seniors Bradyn Silvasy, Natalie Pleban, Ava Darmos, Kristen Kelley and Kayla Ferancy play all these years together. It was my pleasure to call and write about your games. That goes for Peyton Roberts as well, despite not playing this year. You all left your mark on Kee On Sports, and you will be missed. God Bless this bunch!
Thank you Kee on Sports for always covering our girls! We appreciate you and all you do for them. Those girls have always gave it there all I’m going to miss watching them play. I also want to say thank you coach Rositano for trying his best to get those girls better each and everyday. I know his record since he’s been here is only 27-37 and 14-27 in conference but the old hall of fame coach tried!
