Olmsted Falls Bests Elyria 42-0

Elyria – The Elyria Pioneers (0-5) took on the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs (4-1) in their second Southwestern Conference game on Elyria Charity Field at Ely Stadium in week 5 of OHSAA high school football action. The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs would come out on top beating the Elyria Pioneers by a score of 42 to 0.

The first quarter was dominated by the Olmsted Falls Bulldogs as they were able to drive down the field effortlessly capping off the first drive with a 47-yard touchdown quarterback keeper by #9 Jimmy Rosol. The Bulldog defense would then introduce themselves with #2 Logan Connelly intercepting the ball and bringing it all the way back to the 2-yardline. Running back #26 Owen Singleton punched it in for the 2-yard touchdown. The Bulldog defense came back out and without missing a beat sacked the Pioneers forcing them to punt. On that punt #2 Connelly returned it almost all the way but was pushed out at the 11-yardline. Quarterback #9 Rosol would punch it in on a 4-yard quarterback keeper.

The second quarter slowed down a bit. The Bulldogs got the ball back after a Pioneer punt and score on a 24-yard touchdown pass to #2 Connelly. The Pioneers would punt again expecting to get the ball back, but the Bulldogs took a time-consuming drive that was capped off by a 18-yard touchdown pass to #18 Brendan Hearns. Elyria would then run a nearly flawless 2-minute drill and get all the way to the 11-yardline. Then Bulldogs #11 Dominic Winger intercepted the pass with 7.6 seconds in the half. Bulldogs would have a prevailing lead of 35 to 0 at the half.

The Pioneers kicked off to the Bulldogs and were able to pin them down to their own 4-yardline. Then the Bulldogs would hit a 51-yard pass to #14 Camden Frangella. The Pioneer Defense would step up and hold the Bulldog offense forcing them to attempt a 40-yard field goal which would fall short. The Pioneers would start a successful drive but be stalled just shy of the redzone. The Bulldogs would take another time-consuming drive down for a touchdown with a 20-yard run to #28 Khye Gilbert for the final score of the night. The Bulldogs 42, Pioneers 0.

The Elyria Pioneers (0-5) will continue conference play as they travel to play the North Ridgeville Rangers (4-0) at 7pm in week 5 of OHSAA football action.

The Olmsted Falls Bulldogs (4-1) will also continue conference play taking on the Avon Eagles (4-0) at home for week 5, kickoff is slated for 7pm.
