2nd Half
The second half started slow with three total punts. Rutgers was the first team to break the streak and score a touchdown on the fourth drive of the half. A monster 66-yard Isaih Pacheco run set up a 4-yard Raiqwon O’Neal TD run. The two-point conversion was then failed. (35-9)
OSU finally rebounded offensively and quickly struck back. Fields found his star tight end Jeremy Ruckert for a 7-yard TD. (42-9)
Several Ohio State defensive penalties continued to gift Rutgers on the next drive. The Scarlet Knights then capitalized with a Johnny Langan 6-yard TD pass to Jovani Haskins. The two-point conversion was again failed. (42-15)
Ohio State punted on the next drive and Avery Young returned the ball on the far side of the field. Young then tossed a wobbly and ugly ball to switch the field. Bo Melton hauled it in and took it 58-yards to the house. The two-point conversion was once again failed. (42-21)
Ohio State then scored for their final time of the game with a 33-yard bullet from Fields to Olave. (49-21)
Rutgers scored a last consolation touchdown off a Langan 1-yard run. For the fourth time in a row, the two-point conversion was failed. (49-27)
Prior to game finishing, both teams fumbled. No points were scored off the turnovers and it all wrapped up at 49-27.
