For the second week in a row, Ohio State comes into a game ranked third in the country. The 2-0 Buckeyes will be looking to dismantle 1-1 Rutgers following a nice win at Penn State. The Scarlet Knights lost last week to #13 Indiana, 37-21, and got the best of Michigan State in week one, 38-27.
Rutgers has struggled greatly against Ohio State during their time in the Big Ten. Each year it has been clear that there is a MASSIVE talent discrepancy on the field.
Greg Schiano, the former Ohio State defensive coordinator from 2016-2018, is now in his second stint as head coach of Rutgers. Not only will this game mean something to Schiano, but his team is slightly improved. It will be a nice test to see where they stand currently.
In the six previous Big Ten meetings, the Buckeyes have not only won each game, but they only scored less than 50 points once. That was still a 49-7 blowout in 2015.
Holding OSU to less than 45 points would be a massive win for Rutgers. At the same time, the Buckeyes will be looking to strengthen the victory for the playoff committee by racking up points.
