Ohio State vs Michigan State Recap: No Stopping the Buckeyes Today

Cole’s Players of the Game

Offensive – Starting O-line

Fields was fantastic but the line deserves so much credit for overcoming adversity. Wyatt Davis stepped up as a leader and Harry Miller was serviceable at center despite the quick move from left guard. Dawand Jones, Matthew Jones and Max Wray all played well in their starting debuts against a physical Michigan State front. Fields was protected and they opened up holes for big runs. They deserve lots of credit for their role in the win.

Defensive – Justin Hilliard

Haskell Garrett deserves an honorable mention but Hilliard gets this honor. Hilliard was an outstanding high school recruit whose college career hit some bumps along the way. The injury bug plagued Hilliard yet the talent is still evident. He stepped in as a starter today in the absence of Tuf Borland and tallied 5 total tackles (3 solo). Hilliard adds some stable depth to a strong linebacker unit.
