Ohio State earned an 89–88 double-overtime win over West Virginia in the night cap of the 2025 Cleveland Hoops Showdown.

Bruce Thornton led Ohio State with 21 points, while John Mobley Jr. and Amare Bynum each scored 17. Christoph Tilly finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Devin Royal added 11 points and 10 rebounds as the Buckeyes had five players score in double figures.

West Virginia was led by Honor Huff, who scored 24 points, and Brenen Lorient, who totaled 18 points on 7-of-7 shooting. Jasper Floyd and Chance Moore each added 14 points for the Mountaineers.

The first overtime mirrored regulation, with neither team able to create separation as both sides traded baskets and defensive stops. In the second overtime, Ohio State finally pulled in front late, converting at the free-throw line and getting a final defensive stop to preserve the one-point win as time expired.
