NWA Champions Who Flopped In The WWF

Dusty Rhodes – He was very popular in his brief run with the WWF from the Summers of 1989 – the Winter of 1990.  However, they embarrassed him at every turn including saddling him with a ridiculous polka dot gimmick and large obese female manager.  Like Race, Rhodes was a legend in the NWA and could have been a real force in the WWF if used properly.

Kerry Von Erich – He came into the WWF like a Tornado and quickly knocked off Mr. Perfect two weeks into his tenure with the company to win the Intercontinental Gold.  From there, he let personal demons’ kibosh the remainder of his career until ultimately committing suicide.

Ron Garvin – This one is almost laughable.  He was only NWA champion a brief 62 days, but it still counts.  He spent the majority of his WWF tenure as a jobber.  His one sole victory of note was against Greg Valentine at the 1990 Royal Rumble.
