Elyria- The North Ridgeville Lady Rangers took care of business in a Southwestern Conference matchup against Elyria , 42-27. The Lady Rangers early were the more aggressive team and scored the first 10 points of the contest. Senior CC Bouman and junior Alyssa Eland each scored 4 points in the quarter and sophomore Broke Schroeder added 2 points. The Lady Rangers can also thank their effort on the boards as it seemed like every loose ball ended up in a grey North Ridgeville jersey.

The Lady Pioneers however did not let that run discourage them, as they would answer back with a 5-0 run themselves, with a 3 pointer from junior KaMariana Scott and layup from freshman Alexis Luckey. The quarter ended with North Ridgeville ahead 10-5.

In the 2nd quarter the Lady Rangers would distance themselves. The Lady Rangers held Elyria to just 7 points in the quarter while putting up 16 points. Sophomore guard Lauryn Bohannon, who was held scoreless in the first quarter, scored 7 of her 12 total points in the game in the 2nd quarter and she scored every way possible, a 3 pointer, a 2 pointer, and going 2 for 2 from the free throw line. Bouman added 4 points in the quarter and a pair of juniors in Yamila Scott and Maddie Kuhn each added a 2 point bucket. The Lady Rangers ended the quarter on a 5-0 run and held a 26-14 halftime lead.

The Lady Rangers took off right where they left off in the 3rd quarter, scoring the first 7 points of the quarter, which is more than Elyria would have in the entire quarter. Schoeder had her best quarter of the game, having 5 of her 7 points this quarter.  Bouman scored her final 4 points while Bohannon and Kuhn each added 2 points themselves, totaling 13 points in the quarter. The point differential of 8 points in the quarter resulted with the Lady Rangers having their biggest lead of the game, 39-17.

In the 4th quarter, the Lady Pioneers showed that despite being down they were not going to give up. The Lady Pioneers would have their lone double digit quarter, scoring 10 points while a lone Bohannon 3 pointer was the only offense for North Ridgeville in the quarter. The Lady Pioneers’ scoring was thanks to the duo of KaMariana Scott and senior Sirriah Drummer. Drummer had 4 of her 6 points while Scott had 6 of her 12 points. The 4th quarter effort would not be enough for the Lady Pioneers, as the Lady Rangers held on to win 42-27.

North Ridgeville also won a shortened JV contest 20-6.

Player of the game: CC Bouman. The senior forward was 1 of 3 players in the contest with a game high 12 points. In addition to her scoring, it seemed like the ball always found her rather on the offensive or defensive glass.
