The Rangers started the second quarter with a quick bucket from Schroeder to balloon the lead up to 19-12.  From there a banked three ball from Iliff crept it within five before another bucket made it 19-17 Rangers and closed it to a two-point game.  From there, however, it was all Rangers as they closed out the half on a run to pull away with a 29-22 lead at the break.  The big hitters coming from a Balderas three ball and 4 points from Bohannan.

The game remained 29-22 Rangers for nearly the first 3 minutes of the second half before a Spyres bucket for the Rangers got them started again.  Increasing the lead to 31-22 over the Comets.  After a Balderas bucket gave the Rangers their largest lead of the game at 33-22, the Comets scored their first points of the second half with 4 minutes already gone on a Caldera bucket to get it within single digits before Schroeder answered right away with a hoop seconds later to keep the Ranger lead at 12 by a score of 36-24 with 3:49 to play  in the third.

Up 12 with a little over 3 minutes left in the third, the Rangers knew they could put a stranglehold on the game with a strong finish to the quarter.  A Spyres three from the corner extended the Ranger lead to 41- 26 with 1:18 left in the third, handing them a 15 point lead.   Then went on to win 51-45.
