North Olmsted Woman Receives 100th Birthday Wish from MLB All Star

In local news today, North Olmsted business owner Bill Rochelle of Convenient Food Mart on Lorain Rd, contacted me recently to contact the Kansas City Royals on his behalf.  His mother Doris was turning 100 next week, and her favorite baseball player is former Cleveland Indian and now Kansas City Royal Carlos Santana.

He was hoping they could send her a Birthday card.  I thought it was more than a reasonable request even if the chances were slim.  What they did, was far more then I could have hoped for as they went above and beyond for 100-year-old Doris.  They not only sent a card signed by the team, but an autographed jersey of Santana’s, signed by Carlos to Doris.

Stories like this keep me believing there are still a few good people in this world. Here is a picture below of Doris with her gift.
