North Olmsted Softball Defeats Rocky River 13-4

Elena Scott was dominant in the circle, as the starting pitcher rang up 13 strikeouts in North Olmsted Varsity Eagles’s 13-4 victory over Rocky River Varsity Pirates on Tuesday. Scott surrendered four hits and four runs over seven innings while walking one.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles were the first to get on the board in the second when Adriana D’Alessandro singled, scoring one run.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles scored six runs on four hits in the top of the third inning.

Reagan Kane induced Scott to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Lena Costello doubled, scoring two runs, D’Alessandro singled, scoring two runs, and Hannah Sheley singled, scoring one run.

Elizabeth Smalley homered to center field, scoring two runs in the bottom of the fourth for the Rocky River Varsity Pirates.

Kane started the game for Rocky River Varsity Pirates. The right-handed pitcher surrendered nine hits and nine runs (four earned) over four innings, striking out three and walking two.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles amassed 15 hits in the game. Costello, D’Alessandro, Morgan Outrich, Scott, Suckart, and Sheley each collected two hits for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles. Costello and D’Alessandro each drove in three runs for North Olmsted Varsity Eagles. North Olmsted Varsity Eagles had a strong eye at the plate, tallying six walks for the game. D’Alessandro and Scott led the team with two walks each.

D’Alessandro stole two bases. North Olmsted Varsity Eagles ran wild on the base paths, tallying five stolen bases for the game.

Smalley drove the middle of the lineup, leading Rocky River Varsity Pirates with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. Juliana Benjamin, Rylie Quaiser, Maggie Heigle, and Smalley each collected one hit for Rocky River Varsity Pirates. Quaiser stole two bases. Rocky River Varsity Pirates turned two double plays in the game.

North Olmsted Varsity Eagles welcome Rocky River on Wednesday for their next game.
