Tuesday’s game between North Olmsted and the Bay Village Rockets, resulted in a 10-5 victory for North Olmsted. The game was tied at one with North Olmsted batting in the bottom of the fifth when an error scored one run for North Olmsted and opened the door to a victory as they began to pull away shortly after with 4 runs in the 5th, and 5 runs in the 6th. The Rockets countered with 2 each in those innings, but it wasn’t enough.
Bay Village, to their credit, outhit the Eagles 9-8 tonight. As mentioned, North Olmsted scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big go ahead inning for the Eagles came after a single by Taylor Wengstrom, a groundout and an error on a ball put in play by Peterson, and then a double from Gilley.
Your winning pitcher tonight was Elena Scott who went seven innings, allowing five runs on nine hits and striking out seven.
Grace Pierce took the hard luck loss for Bay as she went six innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits, striking out 11 and walking one.
For the Bay Rockets, of their nine hits, it was Katie Carney and Annabel Sjoberg with multiple hits for the Rockets as they each had two.
The Orange and Black chalked up eight hits. They were led by Wengstrom and Gilley who each had multiple hits for North Olmsted. Wengstrom was the leader with the stick as she went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Lady Eagles.
