NORTH OLMSTED, OH – The Buckeye Bucks led early and often as they traveled to North Olmsted to capture a convincing 71-54 victory. The Bucks were led by the amazing Dolata brothers who combined to score 35 points as Turner had 21 and Mason 14. Starters Jacob Snyderburn put in 15 while Austin Hyre sunk 14. Zac Stough scored 6 while Logan Brown finished it with a point.
The Eagles fought hard but came up short in their quest for their first win of the season. They were once again led by Dominic Martin who scored 18 while Chuck Shuck had his best game of the season with 12. Anthony D’Alessandro hit 7 from the line for 13 of his points as well. Cory Kraft scored 6 while Nick Fratini and Cam Massimiani each had 2.
The Bucks jumped out to a 6-2 lead on back to back three balls from Jacob Snyderburn. After some nice hustle plays from D’Alessandro cut the lead to 6-5, the Bucks received 6 straight points from Turner Dolata to stretch the lead back out to 12-5. A few minutes later, a three ball from Mason Dolata handed the Bucks their first double digit lead of the game at 19-9. It would get up to 22-9 before a drive by D’Alessandro would halt the run. The game proceeded to the second quarter with the Bucks up 22-11.
After a 4-0 run by the Eagles cut it to 22-15, back to back three balls from the red hot Austin Hyre stretched the lead back out to 28-15. Mason Dolata heated up for 4 in the corner while the Bucks got 9 from beyond the arc to take a 37-24 lead into the second half.
The Bucks started the third quarter on a 7-2 run and pushed the lead to 20 at 57-37 by the 1:45 mark remaining in the third quarter. The Bucks held the tempo the rest of the quarter and then eventually the game as they cruised to the 71-54 win.
The Bucks improved to 10-6 and will look for their next win this Tuesday at they host Normandy. Meanwhile, the Eagles will look for their first win this Tuesday night as they travel to Rocky River.
